Women Writers Worthy of the Nobel

Italian writer Patrizia Cordone has published an article titled "Scrittrici da Nobel" (Women Writers of Nobel Calibre) on Luoghi di Donne, arguing that reading good literature resembles a journey. She contends the Nobel Prize's own citation criteria reflect this quality, and uses the piece to highlight women writers whose work merits the same recognition the award has often granted to men.
Why now: Discussion of women authors overlooked for the Nobel Prize continues to resonate with readers of literary criticism.
