A widely shared statement alleges that the United States is effectively giving Russia more money to wage its war against Ukraine, and that the speaker's team is being used as a smokescreen for the arrangement. The speaker calls the situation absolutely unfair, not a partnership, and a weak decision by otherwise strong partners. The remark is drawing attention amid ongoing debate over Western policy toward Moscow and Kyiv.

Why now: Ongoing controversy over US and Western policy toward Russia and Ukraine has made claims of indirect US funding of the war highly charged.
