San Bruno National Archives immigration records relocating to Kansas City
Original: Immigration records at San Bruno National Archives heads to Kansas City
Immigration records held at the National Archives facility in San Bruno, California are being moved to Kansas City. The relocation affects genealogists, researchers and families who use the documents to trace immigrant ancestors, many of whom will now need to request materials from the Midwest instead of visiting the Bay Area site.
Why now: Researchers and families with immigrant ancestors in California are concerned about losing local access to records they rely on.
