Original: Target Says It's Not Working With ICE Amid Uproar Over Parking Lot Use https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/nyregion/targe
Target publicly stated it is not cooperating with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, responding to growing public anger over reports that ICE was using Target store parking lots. The company's denial came amid an uproar on social media and calls for boycotts, as customers demanded clarity on the retailer's relationship with federal immigration authorities.
Why now: Consumers are reacting to reports of ICE operations at Target locations and the company's attempt to quell a boycott.
