Trump says Russia to supply 300,000 tons of diesel after Putin call

US President Donald Trump says he held a highly successful discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin, under which Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global marketplace. Trump announced the agreement in a post on Truth Social. The claim is drawing attention given Western sanctions on Russian energy and questions over how such a supply arrangement would work.

Why now: A US president claiming an energy supply deal with sanctioned Russia is highly unusual and politically explosive.
