Original: Polyps are out, half out or not # gili # giliislands # lombok # singapore # diving # scuba # trawangan # diveandstay # g
A diver in Indonesia's Gili Islands, off Lombok, shared an observation that coral polyps are only partly out on the local reef, a condition often tied to lighting, water conditions or coral stress. The post tagged scuba diving spots including Gili Trawangan and Gili Air, drawing attention from the diving community watching reef health in the region.
Why now: Divers and ocean watchers are concerned about coral reef health around the popular Gili diving destinations.
