Katie Zacharia Takes Over as Trump's Press Secretary

Original: katie zacharia

Katie Zacharia has made her debut as White House press secretary after being named to replace Karoline Leavitt. Reports describe a bumpy first outing, and the Washington Post says the administration is scrambling to answer questions about her background. Coverage also links the appointment to turbulence around the US embassy in Greece, with Kimberly Guilfoyle resigning as ambassador while denying misconduct allegations. Her name is trending in searches across the US, India, Europe and Latin America.

Why now: Zacharia's appointment and rocky first appearance as press secretary are major new developments in Trump's White House.
