Calls grow for SPD to leave coalition with Union
Original: @ dab Die # spd muss raus aus der Koalition. Die # union ist ein totes Pferd, das man nicht mehr reiten sollte. # Pistor
German political commentators are urging the SPD to exit the governing coalition with the CDU/CSU, calling the Union a dead horse that should no longer be ridden. Some suggest Defence Minister Boris Pistorius or Mecklenburg-Vorpommern premier Manuela Schwesig as alternative candidates, arguing a change is the only way to stop the AfD before two more years under Chancellor Friedrich Merz hand the party its chance.
Why now: Frustration with Merz's Union-led government is fueling debate over whether the SPD should break up the coalition.
