Iran Accuses France of Nuclear Double Standards
Original: Iran questions France’s nuclear double standards
Iran has accused France of applying double standards on nuclear issues, according to remarks carried by Tehran's state-affiliated press. The criticism comes as Tehran continues to press Western governments over what it sees as inconsistent treatment of its nuclear programme compared with the nuclear capabilities of European states. The accusation adds to ongoing tensions between Iran and Western powers over nuclear policy, inspections and sanctions, keeping the dispute firmly in the diplomatic spotlight.
Why now: Ongoing tensions between Iran and Western governments over nuclear policy keep accusations of Western double standards a recurring talking point.
