Meta bans TikTok ads across its platforms

Original: tiktok

Meta has blocked TikTok ads from running on Facebook, Instagram and its other apps in the United States, according to Reuters and Yahoo Finance. Marketing-Interactive reports the ban extends to ByteDance ads more broadly, describing the move as an escalation of the rivalry between the two social media giants. The ban comes as competition for advertising dollars and users intensifies.

Why now: Meta's ban on TikTok ads escalates the rivalry between the two biggest social media companies, making it major tech news.
