Original: Rui Pinto to remain under witness protection after U-turn by Portuguese authorities https:// programming.dev/post/577202

Rui Pinto, the Football Leaks founder whose disclosures exposed financial wrongdoing in football, will remain under Portugal's witness protection programme after the authorities reversed an earlier decision. The U-turn means continued state protection for the whistleblower, whose case has drawn international attention to transparency in the sport and the treatment of whistleblowers in Portugal.

Why now: The Portuguese authorities' reversal of an earlier decision affects the safety and legal standing of a high-profile whistleblower whose leaks shook world football.
