Shroud calls streaming in 2026 depressing as small chats sit empty

Original: twitch

Streamer Shroud said streaming in 2026 feels depressing, claiming channels with 200 to 400 concurrent viewers now have completely empty chats. His comments have struck a chord with streamers and viewers who say declining engagement is increasingly common on Twitch, even for mid-sized channels with solid audiences.

Why now: Shroud's comments about empty chats despite decent viewer numbers resonate with streamers worried about falling engagement on Twitch.
