Canadians mark Thanksgiving as turkey prices climb
Original: canadian thanksgiving
Canadians are celebrating Thanksgiving weekend, with attention on two stories: a Detroit group plans to fly a thank-you banner over the border celebrating Canada-U.S. friendship, while shoppers face higher costs for their holiday turkey. Cooks preparing the traditional meal are being warned prices are up this year, making the holiday dinner noticeably more expensive for families.
Why now: It is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, when family gatherings and holiday meal costs draw attention.
