Water concerns mount across France amid drought alerts
Original: eau
Water is dominating the news in France, with packs of bottled water distributed in five communes in Haute-Marne as a precaution, and a Breton town known for its rainy climate placed on 'scarlet' drought alert, with officials describing a critical situation. Rennes and its metropolitan area are also outlining how they plan to cope with floods, heatwaves and droughts.
Why now: New drought alerts and emergency water distributions in France have made water supply a pressing topic.
