Melting Alpine glaciers revealing missing climbers
Original: gletsjer
Alpine glaciers are melting at an increasing rate, and with them the bodies of climbers who went missing decades ago are surfacing. Dutch sustainability coverage of the phenomenon is drawing attention, as retreating ice in the Alps keeps exposing remains and wreckage from long-closed mountaineering cases.
Why now: Accelerating glacier melt in the Alps keeps bringing long-missing climbers to the surface, a striking sign of climate change.
