IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has warned that a war with Iran may force a delay to Israeli elections, according to i24NEWS reporting. The statement, made to American counterparts, ties the country's electoral timetable to the state of regional security and the prospect of renewed conflict with Tehran. It raises questions about how a major military campaign would affect Israel's domestic political calendar.

Why now: Ongoing tensions with Iran make any suggestion that war could upend Israeli elections politically sensitive and newsworthy.
