Mélenchon says young voters are now convincing the old

Original: During this election, for the first time, the youngest will convince the oldest. This phenomenon began during the debate

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of La France Insoumise, said that in this election, for the first time, the youngest voters will convince the oldest, a dynamic he says began during debates on enshrining abortion rights in the constitution. He framed it as another hallmark of what he calls the 'New France', drawing attention to a generational shift in French political alignment.

Why now: His remark about a generational voting dynamic ahead of the French election is circulating amid debate over abortion constitutionalisation and youth engagement.
