Programming Isn't Special
A new essay titled 'Programming Isn't Special' by the developer behind the Glyph blog argues against the notion that programming occupies a unique status among skilled trades, likely in the context of ongoing debates about AI writing code. It is drawing discussion on Hacker News, where it has reached the front page with a few hundred upvotes.
Why now: Programmers are actively debating whether coding is a privileged skill as AI coding tools advance.
