Sikorski: Permanent US base in Poland already exists
Original: The permanent American base in Poland already exists, and President Nawrocki has nothing to do with its establishment.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that a permanent American military base in Poland already exists, and that President Karol Nawrocki had no role in its establishment. His comment comes amid political debate in Poland over who deserves credit for deepening US-Poland defense ties, with the government distancing itself from the president's claims of influence over American security commitments.
Why now: Ongoing political rivalry in Poland over credit for US defense cooperation, with Nawrocki's camp claiming wins the government disputes.
