French high schoolers speak out about filthy school toilets
Original: toilettes
High school students in northern France are complaining about the state of their school toilets, describing them as dirty, smelly and too few in number. La Voix du Nord reports that pupils and staff see the issue as anything but trivial, since poor facilities affect students' health, comfort and willingness to attend class, turning an everyday matter into a real concern.
Why now: A local report on poor sanitary conditions in schools has struck a chord with students, parents and teachers.
