ADHD diagnoses surge sparks debate over labels and harm
Original: adhd
ADHD is dominating discussion in the UK as diagnoses surge and high-profile figures speak out. Jamie Oliver's wife Jools issued a statement after receiving two life-changing diagnoses, while creatives have shared what they wish they'd known before being diagnosed. At the same time, experts are warning that the ADHD label risks lifelong harm to children, prompting questions in national media about whether ADHD and autism are being over-diagnosed.
Why now: A surge in ADHD diagnoses, combined with celebrity announcements and expert warnings about over-diagnosis, has made the condition a leading topic of public debate.
