Pentagon Says Fort Hood Shooter's Execution Will Be Streamed Live
Original: Fort Hood Shooter's Execution Will Be Public and Streamed Live, Pentagon Says
The Pentagon says the execution of the Fort Hood shooter will be carried out publicly and streamed live, an unusual step for a US military execution. The announcement is drawing attention because federal and military executions are normally carried out with very limited public viewing, and broadcasting one would set a precedent.
Why now: The decision to livestream a US military execution is unprecedented and controversial.
