At the UN General Assembly, Nepal delivered what observers are calling the most striking warning of the event — not a threat of force, but a message from the Himalayas. While other leaders focused on weapons and military power, Nepal highlighted the climate crisis unfolding in its mountains, urging global action as glaciers melt and mountain communities face mounting risks.

Why now: World leaders are gathered at the UN General Assembly, and Nepal's climate-focused message stood out against talk of war and weapons.
