Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Calls Himself the NBA's Best Player

Original: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Says He’s “The Best Player” in NBA After Addressing ‘Foul Merchant’ Narrative

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has publicly declared himself the best player in the NBA, while also pushing back against the 'foul merchant' label critics have used to suggest his free-throw numbers rely on officiating rather than skill. His bold self-assessment and response to the narrative have become a talking point among basketball fans.

Why now: A league MVP-caliber star openly claiming to be the NBA's best player and confronting a widely debated criticism is inherently provocative to basketball fans.
