Fort Hood shooter's execution to be livestreamed by Pentagon

Original: fort hood

The Pentagon says the execution of the Fort Hood shooter will be livestreamed, an unprecedented move for a US military execution. The case has drawn renewed attention after reports that President Trump approved what would be the first firing squad execution in the US military since the Second World War. Observers are debating both the decision to stream the event and the timing of the approval.

Why now: The unusual decision to livestream a military execution, reportedly the first firing squad execution approved since WWII, has put the Fort Hood case back in the headlines.
