Margaret Hamilton, the computer scientist whose onboard flight software guided NASA's Apollo missions to the Moon, has died at the age of 90. As the first female programmer hired for MIT's Apollo guidance work, she led the team that wrote the software keeping the lunar modules flying, famously helping save the Apollo 11 landing. She also helped coin the term software engineering.
