Zelenskyy Rejects Rubio's Claim of Ukraine War Stalemate
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has pushed back against US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's assertion that the war with Russia has reached a stalemate. Zelenskyy insisted Ukrainian forces are still achieving results on the battlefield and rejected suggestions the front lines are frozen. The exchange highlights growing friction between Kyiv and Washington over how to characterize the war's trajectory and the prospects for negotiations.
Why now: Contradiction between a key ally's assessment and Ukraine's official position fuels debate over the war's direction and future US support.
