Fan criticises Sky's Premier League coverage as greedy foreign farce

Original: Don't fall for Sky's American-hype, it's not just # MCFC /#ManCity, the whole # PremierLeague is a greedy foreign farce

A football fan has criticised Sky Sports' coverage of English football, arguing the broadcaster pushes an Americanised hype that serves club owners rather than supporters. Writing under the hashtag around Manchester City, the fan claims the entire Premier League has become a greedy, foreign-owned business and calls for regulation to restore locally rooted, meaningful competition. The complaint was also accompanied by a poem titled "Reregulate".

Why now: Ongoing anger about foreign ownership and commercialisation of English football, amplified by Sky's broadcasting of the league.
