Original: « … about 80,000 to 100,000 Palestinian families rely on the olive harvest for their income, according to the UN Office
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says around 80,000 to 100,000 Palestinian families rely on the annual olive harvest for their income. Commenters sharing the figure are linking it to calls for a ceasefire and concerns over the impact of the war on Palestinian livelihoods in the occupied territories.
Why now: The war in Gaza and the West Bank has put a spotlight on the economic vulnerability of Palestinian families during the olive harvest season.
