A developer is building a feature that lets readers log when they started and finished each book, along with every return visit to the title. The tool will also include a "paused" shelf for books set aside but intended to be resumed. Early reactions have come from the reading and book-tracking community, who often want finer-grained records of their habits than standard reading apps provide.
Why now: Readers and book-tracking enthusiasts are interested in tools that capture detailed reading histories and progress.
Evidence
- On the workbench: reading dates in your library. When you started a book, when you finished it, and each time you came back to read it again. Plus a "paused" shelf for the books you mean to return to. # buildinpublic # books # reading # bookstodon · ethanOS@infosec.exchange · 3
