Mike Flanagan's Carrie series gets early mixed reactions

Original: I guess I'm a King originalist because I tried the new "Carrie" show by Mike Flanagan and noped out after the first 10 m

Mike Flanagan's new television adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie is drawing early reactions, with some viewers dropping it quickly. One critic argued Stephen King's short 180-page novel does not warrant an eight-hour series and questioned why remake the story at all, given Sissy Spacek's iconic performance in Brian De Palma's 1976 film. Others remain curious how Flanagan, known for adapting King's work, handles it.

Why now: A high-profile new adaptation of a beloved Stephen King classic naturally draws scepticism and comparison to the 1976 film.

• I guess I'm a King originalist because I tried the new "Carrie" show by Mike Flanagan and noped out after the first 10 minutes...a 180-page novel doesn't need to be an 8-hour show. Also, Sissy Spacek can't be topped so....WHAT IS POINT. # TV # Carrie # StephenKing · brianvastag@mas.to · 1
