Shin Bet says it uncovered Negev terror cell linked to West Bank groups
Original: Shin Bet uncovers West Bank-style terror cell in Negev as Bedouin group denies 'battalion' claims
Israel's Shin Bet security agency says it has uncovered a terror cell in the Negev operating in a manner similar to West Bank militant groups. A Bedouin organisation has rejected claims that a local 'battalion' exists, pushing back against the characterisation of the cell and denying organized militant activity among the Bedouin community in southern Israel.
Why now: The alleged discovery raises fears of militant activity spreading to Israel's southern Bedouin community, a sensitive topic amid ongoing security tensions.
