Hegseth Trails Troops on Morning Run
Original: Hegseth trails troops on run
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth was photographed running behind a formation of troops during a group run, with the image spreading widely online. Commentators are joking about the defence secretary falling behind the service members he oversees, while supporters frame it as a sign he keeps up with physical training culture.
Why now: The optics of the defence secretary lagging behind soldiers invited mockery and debate about military fitness standards he has championed.
