Signal is rolling out a new setting that controls whether stickers and GIFs play automatically in the messaging app. The update gives users finer control over animated content, letting them disable autoplay to save data or reduce distractions. The change puts Signal in line with features long offered by competitors like WhatsApp.

Why now: Signal just announced a new autoplay setting, and privacy-focused messenger users follow app updates closely.
