UK deploys three nuclear deterrent submarines in unusual move
Original: submarine
The UK has reportedly deployed three of its four nuclear deterrent submarines at the same time, in what officials describe as unusual circumstances. The news comes amid other submarine-related developments: reports that Russia has transferred non-nuclear submarine technology to China, and a $6.6 billion US investment involving Anduril and the US Navy to expand America's submarine industrial base, tied to a new shipyard project announced by Trump.
Why now: A cluster of submarine-related defence stories, including the UK's unusual deterrent deployment, is drawing attention to naval readiness.
