Mexicans search for gasoline as prices and outages bite
Original: gasolina
Searches for gasoline have risen sharply in Mexico, where the state power company CFE has admitted transmission failures after a wave of blackouts, prompting drivers to rush to fill tanks. Elsewhere in the Spanish-speaking world, Google Maps is rolling out real-time fuel price comparisons, first in the United Kingdom, a feature many drivers hope will arrive soon to help them find cheaper gasoline.
Why now: Power outages and the rollout of fuel price features in Google Maps have put gasoline back in the spotlight for Spanish-speaking users.
