Original: Armenia, Azerbaijan discuss stepping up search for war missing

Armenia and Azerbaijan have held talks on intensifying the search for people who went missing during their decades-long conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. Hundreds of families on both sides are still waiting for news of relatives lost in the wars of the 1990s and the 2020 fighting, and the two governments are now discussing practical steps to locate and identify the missing.

Why now: Renewed diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan has put humanitarian issues, including the fate of the war missing, back on the agenda.
