An NFL season trend is drawing attention: quarterbacks who throw 50 or more passes in a game have a combined record of 1-8 this year. The only winner is Matthew Stafford, who threw 51 attempts in the Los Angeles Rams' victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Analysts point to the stat as a warning for pass-heavy teams that volume throwing is not producing wins.
Why now: The stat is a striking early-season trend that fuels debate about pass-heavy offensive strategies in the NFL.
