We Distribute has announced Fedizen, a new project built around Bonfire, an open-source federated app toolkit. The announcement introduces Fedizen as part of the outlet's 'Digital Crossroads' collection, framing it as an effort to support people navigating the decentralized social web. Response so far has come mainly from federated-platform users sharing the news, with interest centred on what the project will offer the wider fediverse community.

Why now: The launch of a new Bonfire-based project taps ongoing interest in decentralized, open-source alternatives to mainstream social media.
