Ukraine strikes Omsk oil refinery deep inside Russia
Original: Ukrainian Defence Forces strike Omsk oil refinery 2,500 km from Ukraine for second time since July – General Staff #Ukra
Ukraine's General Staff says its forces have struck the Omsk oil refinery in Siberia, roughly 2,500 km from Ukrainian territory, for the second time since July. The attack targets one of Russia's largest refineries, part of Kyiv's ongoing campaign against Russian oil-processing infrastructure intended to reduce Moscow's fuel revenues and military logistics capacity.
Why now: Ukraine has demonstrated the ability to hit strategic targets deep inside Russian territory for a second time.
