Original: Reps. Tlaib and Green lead letter demanding release of DACA recipient in ICE custody

Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Mark Green have led a letter demanding the release of a DACA recipient currently held in US Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. The congressional letter pressures immigration authorities over the detention of someone protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, adding to ongoing disputes over ICE detention practices and the treatment of Dreamers under current enforcement policy.

Why now: Congress is publicly challenging ICE's detention of a DACA recipient, fueling debate over immigration enforcement.
