Cleveland have designated quarterback Dillon Gabriel to return to practice, opening his 21-day window to be activated back to the roster. NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the move. Gabriel had been sidelined, and his return gives the Browns another option at quarterback as they weigh their depth chart for the coming weeks.

Why now: The Browns' quarterback situation is under close scrutiny, so a returning signal-caller is big team news.
