Tenzing Norgay's son says Himalayas sending climate warning
Jamling Tenzing Norgay, son of the Sherpa who climbed Everest with Edmund Hillary in 1953, says the Himalayas are sending a warning about climate change. He points to shrinking glaciers and changing conditions on the mountains as evidence that the region is under threat and that action on global warming is urgently needed.
Why now: The remarks by a high-profile figure connected to Everest's most famous climb are drawing attention to climate impacts in the Himalayas.
