Google has launched Playground, an AI-powered game-building tool that lets users create, play and share their own 2D and 3D games from simple prompts. The platform is initially available only in the United States. The launch is drawing attention as another step in bringing generative AI tools to everyday consumers, letting non-developers build playable games without coding skills.
Why now: The US-only launch of a prompt-based AI game maker is new and appeals to interest in accessible AI creativity tools.
