Conflating Israel with Jewish identity called antisemitic
Original: « … [through conflation of Israel with Jewish identity] an essentially antisemitic message is being sent to the public,
Commentators are arguing that conflating Israel with Jewish identity sends an essentially antisemitic message to the public, namely that Jews are collectively responsible for the actions of the Israeli state. The point is being made in the context of ongoing debate over the Gaza war and criticism of Israel, where distinguishing between a state's policies and Jewish communities worldwide remains a contested issue.
Why now: Ongoing war in Gaza has intensified debates over antisemitism and criticism of Israel
