James Gunn defends Clayface film against criticism

Original: James Gunn Responds to ‘Clayface’ Criticism: ‘The Public Voting on What IP They Want to See’ Isn’t ‘the Only Way to Make a Movie’

DC Studios co-chief James Gunn has responded to criticism of the upcoming 'Clayface' movie, arguing that audiences 'voting' on which existing intellectual property deserves a film is not the only way to make a movie. Gunn's comments come amid online debate over whether the lesser-known villain merits a standalone film as the new DC Universe takes shape.

Why now: Gunn directly addressed fan skepticism about greenlighting a film based on a relatively obscure Batman villain.
