Panevrix is a new open-source, Commander-style file manager that runs in the browser, offering the familiar two-panel workflow with keyboard-driven navigation for local file management. It is being shared with the open-source developer community, where interest centres on its retro dual-pane approach and what it could mean for browser-based tools replacing traditional desktop utilities.
Why now: A new open-source alternative to classic dual-pane file managers is being showcased to developers, drawing attention for its browser-based take on a familiar workflow.
