A Renoir exhibition has opened in Shizuoka featuring works from the collection of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum, which holds one of Japan's notable collections of Western art. The display brings the museum's Impressionist holdings to a wider regional audience, and Japanese arts and entertainment outlets have been noting the collaboration between the two venues.
Why now: Interest in Impressionist art and a notable museum loan bringing major works outside Tokyo.
