Oregon Police Seek Tips After Bull Elk Wasted in Union County
Original: OSP Fish and Wildlife seek information in waste of bull elk – Union County
Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife officers are asking the public for information after a bull elk was found wasted in Union County. Under Oregon law, hunters must salvage edible game meat, and wasting a big game animal is a violation. Investigators have not released details on when or where the elk was found, and are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
Why now: People are talking about it because the illegal waste of a prized bull elk is a poaching-type wildlife crime and police are actively seeking public tips.
