Original: Trump Will Award Musk National Medal Of Science At D.C. Tech Summit
President Trump will present Elon Musk with the National Medal of Science at a tech summit in Washington, D.C. The award, the United States' highest scientific honor, going to the Tesla and SpaceX chief is drawing attention given Musk's prominent political alliance with Trump and his expanding role across government-linked technology and space programs.
Why now: The pairing of Trump honoring his close ally Musk with the nation's top science award is politically striking and newsworthy.
